A festive and refreshing twist on the classic espresso martini, this Peppermint Espresso Martini combines the rich flavors of coffee and chocolate with a cool hint of peppermint. Perfect for holiday celebrations or any time you want a sophisticated yet playful cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cocktail

  • 4 oz vodka (vanilla vodka optional, ensure gluten free if needed)
  • 2 oz Kahlua or coffee liqueur
  • 3 oz fresh brewed espresso (cooled) or strong cold brew coffee
  • 2 oz half & half (or Nutpods/Califia Farms Peppermint Mocha creamer for dairy free option)
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

For Garnish

  • Chocolate syrup (for rimming glasses)
  • Crushed candy canes (for rimming glasses)
  • 6 espresso beans (3 per glass)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glasses: Dip the rims of two martini glasses into chocolate syrup, ensuring an even coating, then immediately dip them into crushed candy canes to create a festive, crunchy rim.
  2. Mix the Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour in the vodka, Kahlua, cooled espresso, half & half, and peppermint extract. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 60 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Serve: Strain and divide the cocktail mixture evenly between the two prepared glasses. Garnish each glass with three espresso beans on top for a classic espresso martini touch. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use vanilla vodka for a sweeter, more aromatic flavor if desired.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute half & half with Nutpods or Califia Farms Peppermint Mocha creamer.
  • Ensure espresso is freshly brewed and cooled to prevent dilution from melting ice in the shaker.
  • Crushed candy canes add both flavor and decorative appeal to the glass rims; adjust quantity based on preference.
  • Shake well to froth the cocktail and chill it evenly.
