Tea Bomb Mixture
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea or your favorite calming herbal blend
- Optional: pinch of black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption
Equipment
- Silicone mold or ice cube tray
- Warm the Honey: In a small saucepan, gently warm 1/2 cup honey over low heat until it is fully liquid and easy to stir, then remove the pan from the heat to prevent overheating and preserve the honey’s nutrients.
- Mix in Flavorings: Stir in 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger), 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric, and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon into the warmed honey until the ingredients are fully blended and aromatic.
- Prepare the Mold: Sprinkle a pinch of your chosen dried chamomile or peppermint tea (or other calming herbal blend) evenly into each cavity of a silicone mold or ice cube tray. Adding a pinch of black pepper is optional to help with turmeric absorption.
- Fill the Mold: Carefully pour the flavorful honey mixture over the dried herbs in each mold cavity, ensuring they are adequately coated and filled to the top.
- Solidify the Tea Bombs: Allow the mixture in the molds to cool completely at room temperature until solid. To speed up the setting process, place the molds in the refrigerator.
- Unmold the Tea Bombs: Once hardened, gently pop the tea bombs out of the silicone mold or ice cube tray, taking care not to break them.
- Serve Your Tea Bomb: To enjoy, place one tea bomb into a mug and pour hot water over it, stirring gently until the tea bomb completely dissolves, releasing a warm, soothing beverage.
Notes
- Use raw or unprocessed honey for the best health benefits and flavor.
- If you prefer a stronger tea flavor, add more dried herbal tea to each mold cavity.
- Storing the tea bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator can extend their shelf life for up to two weeks.
- The optional black pepper enhances the bioavailability of turmeric but can be omitted if you prefer a milder taste.
- Feel free to experiment with other calming herbs like lavender or lemon balm for variety.
