Chicken and Seasonings
- 2 tbsp olive oil (Costabile Brand)
- 1 1/2 lb Springer Mountain Farms chicken breast
- 1 1/2 tsp paprika (OliveNation)
- 1 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder (OliveNation)
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
Pasta
- 12 oz gluten free farfalle pasta
Sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp dry shallots
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp Gluten Free 1:1 Flour
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 12 oz shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup pasta water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Boil Pasta: In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the gluten-free farfalle pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- Mix Chicken Seasonings: In a small bowl, combine paprika, oregano, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper to create the chicken seasoning blend.
- Prepare Chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to slightly thin them out for even cooking. Season both sides evenly with the prepared seasoning mixture.
- Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Sear the chicken breasts for 5 minutes on each side until browned.
- Simmer Chicken: After searing, reduce heat to medium-low, cover the pan with a lid, and cook the chicken for an additional 10-12 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the pan and place on a cutting board.
- Melt Butter: Add butter to the same skillet and let it melt over medium heat.
- Sauté Aromatics and Seasonings: Once the butter has melted, add dry shallots, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir and simmer for one minute to release the flavors.
- Make Roux: Sprinkle in the gluten-free flour and stir continuously to combine, scraping the bottom of the pan to incorporate all bits.
- Add Liquids: Slowly pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream while whisking to form a smooth, creamy sauce base.
- Add Cheese: Stir in the shredded parmesan cheese until fully melted and incorporated into the sauce. Allow to cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss well to coat evenly. Add reserved pasta water one tablespoon at a time to thin the sauce as needed.
- Slice Chicken: Slice the rested chicken breasts into strips or bite-sized pieces.
- Finish Dish: Add the sliced chicken to the pasta mixture, gently stir to combine, then serve immediately for a delicious and creamy chicken garlic Parmesan pasta experience.
Notes
- You can substitute gluten-free farfalle with any other gluten-free pasta shape.
- Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F for food safety.
- Adjust the amount of pasta water to achieve your preferred sauce consistency.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor and melting quality.
- To reduce calories, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half, noting it will slightly alter the richness.
